PIllage

Pillage is a wargame-style miniatures game depicting small-scale engagements typical of Viking raids in the Early Middle Ages, using 28mm miniatures.
The rules are simple, but not simplistic, and intuitive, allowing players to focus on tactics, movement and storytelling.

What wargamer hasn't dreamed of playing out a battle in the pouring rain, in the dark, swords glinting in front of fires lit to slow down the opponent?

All this is possible with Pillage, and so much more!

The game system includes the ability to start fires, capture booty, animals or prisoners.
You can also play typical elements of the period, such as shield walls, berserkers, huscarls, naval warfare and lots more!

Pillage is played with individual miniatures that represent your warriors on the board.
You must form a band, led by a leader, to lead the battle against your opponent.
The game requires around twenty miniatures to create an average band, but you can play with fewer, or many more, as you wish!

The game system is simple and intuitive: your warriors are divided into three armour classes: SP (No Protection), PP (Partial Protection) and PC (Full Protection).
The armour class determines a miniature's movement speed and defines the score required to hit and injure it.

A game of Pillage is divided into game turns, themselves divided into 5 phases:

  1. Initiative phase

  2. Movement phase

  3. Shooting phase

  4. Close combat phase

  5. Fire phase

These phases are alternated: the player who has the initiative at the start of the turn will therefore play each phase first (player A does his movement phase, player B his movement phase, player A his shooting phase, player B his shooting phase, etc.).

This avoids the pitfall of endless game turns waiting for your opponent to complete all his actions.

Une table jeu pour Pillage

7 factions are available directly in the rulebook: Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, Franks, Normans, Bretons, Irish/Picts/Scots and Welsh!

Other factions are already available as free downloads from the Pillage website: the Rus/Varègues, the Magyars and the Byzantines!
More will be available in the future, along with a host of supplements.

The standard size of a game table is 120 x 120 cm, but you can play on a smaller surface... Or larger!

Above all, enjoy making beautiful game tables and backdrops, because Pillage is first and foremost a modelling game. The more detailed your table, the greater your tactical possibilities!
